Focal Fibrous Hyperplasia: A Rare Case Report and Literature Review (IPDOAJ) - Lupinepublishers



Intra-oral fibrous type soft tissue overgrowth is common in oral cavity. It can be either benign or neoplastic lesions. Nonneoplastic type of reactive lesion seen in the oral cavity is caused by the chronic irritation. Focal fibrous hyperplasia is one such lesion which is seen in the line of occlusion. Focal fibrous hyperplasia is also known as irritational fibroma or traumatic fibroma. Proper oral hygiene, removal of etiologic factors and conservative excision will prevent the focal fibrous hyperplasia and its recurrence. Proper diagnosis, management and follow up should be done in these cases.

Effect of Twin Block Appliance on a Growing Patient – A Case Report (IPDOAJ) - Lupinepublishers



Twin block appliance is very effective in a growing patient. The successful use of this appliance in the treatment of skeletal Class II malocclusion is based upon factors such as; age of patient, compliance of the patient and other case selection criteria. This case report includes a 14-year-old boy who was treated with twin block appliance. If treated timely, growth modification and orthopedic effects with this appliance can be achieved in a growing individual. This appliance is very successful in a patient with retruded mandible and well aligned arches in whom VTO is positive. This brings the mandible forward and improves the profile immediately.

Epidemiology and Control of Lassa fever (IPDOAJ) - Lupinepublishers



The Lassa Virus (an Arenavirus) is found in West Africa, where it sometimes a severe hemorrhage illness called Lassa fever. The antivirus drug ribavirin is effective, but only if administered early in the course of illness. Because of its expense, need for intravenous administration, potential toxicity, and teratogenicity, empiric therapy with ribavirin is undesirable.

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Pattern of Coconut Oil Extract on Selected Bacterial and Fungi (IPDOAJ) - Lupinepublishers



The study is aimed at evaluating the phytochemical content of coconut oil and determines the susceptibility pattern of coconut oil against bacteria and fungi. Coconut oil is a high value coconut product and some positive health benefits have currently been attributed to coconut intake such as its antioxidant and anticancer properties. Coconut oil has also been shown to have antibacterial and antifungal properties and can be used in the treatment of infectious diseases.

Oral Hemangioma Management in Children: A Concise Review (IPDOAJ)- Lupinepublishers



Head and neck region bears the burden of approximately 60% of all the vascular anomalies diagnosed, affecting about 1 in 22 children. These lesions, irrespective of the size, when present on the face are a major cause of esthetic concern and patient usually seek treatment for the same. Various treatment modalities are available and sclerotherapy with intra/peri-lesional injections of 03% Sodium tetra decylsulphate remains the mainstay of treatment in most cases. This article provides a concise review regarding various management options available for smaller vascular lesions especially emphasizing the role of sodium tetradcy sulphate.

Mesiodens: A Case Report and Literature Review (IPDOAJ) - Lupine publishers



Supernumerary teeth are considered to be one of the most significant dental anomalies affecting the primary and early mixed dentition and may cause a variety of pathological disturbances to the developing permanent dentition and also resulting in poor dental and facial esthetics. Mesiodens are the erupted or unerupted extra tooth in the midline of maxilla, along with normal teeth (between the central incisors). Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are necessary for prevention of deleterious effects of mesiodenson dentoalveolar structures. The aim of this case report is to share knowledge about management of mesiodens which might assist the clinician in decision-making.
